VERTICALS ♦ VENETIANS ♦ ROLLERS ♦ VELUX
Follow these general guidelines when you are measuring your chosen windows for blinds and then follow the specific instructions for the type of blind you are measuring for which are listed below.
  • USE A METAL TAPE MEASURE, NOT A CLOTH TAPE AS THEY WILL STRETCH.
  • ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS ARE ESSENTIAL TO THE NEAREST 2mm.
  • ALWAYS ROUND DOWN TO THE NEAREST 2mm, DON'T ROUND UP!
  • PLAN TO POSITION THE BLIND TO AVOID HANDLES, LOCKS AND ANY OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS.
  • ALLOW FOR THE THICKNESS OF ANY TILES WHICH ARE PLANNED IN AN UNDECORATED RECESS.
  • ALLOW FOR ANY FLOOR COVERINGS WHICH ARE TO BE FITTED.
  • PLEASE NOTE THAT TALKING BLINDS CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INNACCURATE MEASUREMENTS SUPPLIED.

VERTICAL BLINDS:

INSIDE RECESS
  • Measure the width (Fig. 1) at the top of the recess.
  • Measure the drop (Fig. 1) in three seperate places and note the smallest dimension. (operating clearences will be allowed for during manufacture)
  • You will require top fix brackets to fix into the top of the recess.

OUTSIDE RECESS
  • Decide how much of an overlap you want on each side of the window opening (unless there is any obstructions, we suggest a minimum of 100mm for each side and 75mm top and bottom) see Fig. 2.
  • Add these measurements to obtain your overall width and drop. (Fig. 2)
  • You will require face fix brackets to fix outside the recess.

VENETIAN BLINDS:

INSIDE RECESS
  • Measure the width all the way down the recess TAKING NOTE OF IF YOU HAVE TILES. Give the smallest measurement.
  • Measure the drop (Fig. 1) in three seperate places and note the largest dimension. (operating clearences will be allowed for during manufacture)
  • Brackets supplied are suitable for face or top fix.
(Fig. 2)
  • Brackets supplied are suitable for face or top fix.
ROLLER BLINDS:

INSIDE RECESS
  • Measure the width all the way down the recess TAKING NOTE OF IF YOU HAVE TILES. If the difference between the widest and narrowest measurements are less than 20mm, quote the widest measurement. If the difference between the widest and narrowest measurement are greater than 20mm, quote the narrowest measurement + 20mm.
  • Measure the drop (Fig. 1) in three seperate places and note the largest dimension. (operating clearences will be allowed for during manufacture)
  • Brackets supplied are suitable for face or top fix.
(Fig. 2)
  • Choose Ordinary Roll option so that the fabric stays closer to the wall.
  • Brackets supplied are suitable for face or top fix.
